I finally...

spent my Christmas money, on Friday!  I got up early before work and while Nick and Guillermo were still sleeping. I took some cookies and a Christmas card to our vet for helping us out SO much last week (if you  don't follow me on Twitter, then you should know that Guillermo finally passed the twist tie after another xray and hours and hours of hoping!). I also made a trip to the post office and ended with Payless and TJMaxx. I love that place, seriously.

First of all, I wanted to show you guys our new family pictures! Lynzie's husband, Brandon, took some photos of all of us before Christmas to give to the parents, and Nick and I got some extras to spread around (my parents got some, and so did a friend or two + the vet)!

I love these pictures and I think that L+B did an AWESOME job!!

Also, here are the moccasins I got at Payless: [sorry for the picture quality, this is the only one I can find, and I haven't yet built up the courage to do a "what I wore" post..]

I have never had a pair of moccasins that I really liked before, so I am excited to wear these! Unfortunately, they look a little silly with the socks I had available to me at the time, so I am hoping that I don't have to wait until it's warmer out to wear them. I think when I have my full wardrobe available to me (i.e. I am not at Nick's..) I will hopefully have some socks that will make them warm + cute at the same time.

ALSO, this is the part that I am most excited about... I got this coat at TJ's. It was only $30, down from $70. Rampage Juniors...  It's really hard to see in the picture, but there is a ruffle detail vertically along the buttons on the front. So fun!

Ignoring the fact that I had to re-attach two buttons, and reinforce the rest of them, which took a good 30-40 minutes (I am assuming this is why it was marked down) I am absolutely in love with it. I have seriously worn it every day since I got it, and am really excited because it makes me feel so much girlier!

Also, here are a couple of pictures from Nick's and my NYE. Just a random table that I happened to be sitting close to while the party was commencing (Of course, I ate something that didn't sit well with my stomach just before we left the house, and was left feeling not-so-excited about the evenings to-do.) This whole house was decorated with amazing art and with this color scheme and it was so warm and cozy in the quiet parts!

NYE drinks! Left - Hers: Cook's Brut Champaign His: Wild Turkey American Honey. Can you say awesome coasters?

Happy Monday!

So this is the new year..

Please press play before continuing ;)

You guys probably noticed that I didn't make a New Year resolution post. Well, you probably didn't notice until now, when I pointed it out. I think they are okay. And fun sometimes. But really, I try to work on things all the time, so I am not a huge fan of them. Mostly because I can never think of something I want to do that I am not already attempting...

Anyways, here is my obligatory 2011 post.

Some things I am looking forward to this year....

  • Three amazing years with this boy. We say it all the time to each other, but really? It's been 2.5 years (tomorrow, in fact). Where did the time go? I can't wait to spend many more with him, and the fact that the time has gone so quickly means that we are happy, and enjoying ourselves and each other.

  • The anniversary of getting Guillermo. Exactly a year ago tomorrow (not a coincidence that this day matches the above) we brought baby Guillermo home when he was only 6 weeks old. He's been through a lot in his one little year of life, but we love him so, so much!

  • Graduation. After 5 incredibly long years in college, I will finally have something to show for it. Many things, actually. These things include: a diploma, a degree in English Edcuation, and a minor in English, a license to teach, and finally, hopefully a job doing what I love in a place that I love. Here's to crossing my fingers...
  • Turning 23. Although I feel much older than my 22 years, I love birthdays. I will forever look forward to them.
  • Blossoming in the blog world and dramatically improving my writing skills. During this last quarter of college, I am actually taking a writing class. I can't wait to see how this impacts my blogging style, because I know it will.
What are you looking forward to in 2011?
Happy New year! <3
