Nick and I met when our friends Nicole and Kas started dating three summers ago. Kas had invited Nick to hang out with the three of them and then Nicole slyly got me to come over by telling me that they needed a fourth person to play Euchre. Completely knowing that I didn't know how to play Euchre and wasn't sure what the last minute invite was all about, I soon learned that it was a set up! When I got to Nicole's apartment, we immediately set off to the grocery to get beer and snacks, and when we came back it was time to play. Neither Nick or I were seasoned players, and both basically had to be taught the rules of the game. We pretty much cheated our way through the entire game and if I remember correctly, we even won one or two! We spent that night flirting outrageously and stayed up late watching a movie. I ended up having to drive Nick home because he had to get up early for work the next morning.
Without having exchanged numbers or anything, I didn't expect to talk to or see him again right away. A few days later, Nicole told me that she and Kas were taking a spontaneous trip and she couldn't go to the Modest Mouse concert we had tickets for the following week! I thought: Perfect! I bet Nick loves them. I got his number and texted him to see if he wanted to take Nicole's ticket, and he said yes! I was SO excited. (He says he was excited to have an excuse to see me, and even more excited that it was a band he loved!) Needless to say, we have been together ever since. Two and a half years (almost!) later, here we are! Here is our first picture together, only a few weeks after we met:
Nick is probably the best boyfriend a girl could have. He's sweet and caring but totally honest and straightforward. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful guy in my life, and I wouldn't trade our relationship for anything
Like every relationship, we have had our troubles, but we have had more good times than bad. The bad times have brought us closer than ever, and now we are each other's best friends. We do basically everything together, including raising our Chihuahua son :)
