Happy World Book Day!

In honor of World Book Day, I wanted to do a special feature of the book I'm reading right now! If any of you read Laura over at Lollipop Loves, you know that she does some pretty fun book reviews. In fact, when I stumbled on her blog, I had already read a bunch of the books she reviewed, except for the Lindsey Kelk series! So, of course, I instantly put it on my Kindle wish list. Since Laura loves Sophia Kinsella just as much as I do, I didn't see how it could be a fail. And anyways, who doesn't like some good British chick lit every once in a while? You guys know that I really, really do :)

So, I have just started the first book in the series, I Heart New York. It's really, really good so far, in a way that means I have read 60% of it in the last two days. I love it, and I plan to read the rest of the series, afterwards! So far, Lindsey Kelk has a really awesome, quirky, and funny style mixed with just the right amount of drama and suspense that makes you want to find out more. I'm loving this book.

I don't want to give away too much of the book, in case you guys decide to read it, and I'm terrible at that on my own, so here' the Amazon synopsis:

"In Kelk's debut novel, rife with familiar chick-lit tropes, Londoner Angela Clark discovers her fiancé Mark's infidelity at her best friend Louisa's wedding and impulsively hops a plane to New York the next day, funding her trip with cash from their joint account. After checking into a fancy hotel, she's befriended by concierge Jenny Lopez, who seems to have nothing better to do than take Angela on shopping sprees and gush about how she's become her hero. Meanwhile, bland Angela curiously attracts several charming, attractive men, eventually having to make a rich man poor man choice between banker Tyler Moore and musician Alex Reid, equally handsome. Angela begins making a startling amount of money writing a blog that documents her experiences in the big (sex and the) city, and soon she's faced with a dilemma: stay in NYC with her new life or head back to England, where she's been offered a fabulous magazine job? Will she hold the interest of those amazing men? Will she have to grow up and face people from her past? Perhaps designer bag-crazy, extraordinarily lucky Angela has something else going for her. Unfortunately, readers will never know."

Do you have a Kindle? What's on your wish list? Is there a book you've read that you think I'll like? I'd love some suggestions!!

xoxo Happy Thursday, everyone :)

P.s. I have added a "follow" button to the right sidebar. This link houses Bloglovin', Google Friend Connect, and email subscriptions. I won't be mad if you click it ;)

  1. I would recommend The History of Love that was written by Nicole Krauss. That is seriously a great book, one of the best books that I have ever read!

I dont have Kindle and I dont think something in this world can reach real books. (but I agree that Kindle is a good invention, as well as CDs - we will never get over touchable things but we also like to have it in virtual option:)

  2. Susanne, I've added that to my list! Thank you very much :)

Also, I feel the same way about Kindles, sometimes. And then, I will just buy a book to read because I miss the feeling.
