Day 6 - Which house would you want to be in? Which house do you think you would get?

I know I posted this last week, but get over it. It's awesome, right? I love Pinterest. As if I even need to say it. Anyways, I digress....

Which house would I want  to be in? Gryffindor, obvs. I feel like if I were in any other house, I would just be jealous and depressed about not being in Gryffindor. :) Which house would I probably end up in? Almost positively Hufflepuff, based on this description: "A Hufflepuff is loyal and honest. While this House is often considered the least desirable of the four, and the "other" section for those who aren't brave, smart, or ambitious, Hufflepuffs probably have the strongest character. Unblinded by idealizations of glory or their own pride, Hufflepuff students do what is right not just for themselves, but for others."

Music Wednesday - Somebody That I Used to Know.

Thanks to Erin, (and lots of other people, since this video has gone viral) YouTube has been a permanent open tab in Safari lately, with this little beauty playing repeatedly. I. Just. Can't. Stop. Listening.

As you read this, I'm embarking on a 17 hour work day. Wish me luck! <3

Apartment DIY: MLK Jr. Day Edition

Happy Monday/MLK Day/No School Day! Hope your long weekend was just as awesome as mine :) Here's what I scoped out on Pinterest this week. Our apartment has actually been coming along very nicely! There are a few empty walls that I still want to fill and the kitchen window desperately needs a curtain, but I'm pretty happy with the progress (especially my bedroom). I've found a lot of stuff at the thrift stores, which you know is an adventure in and of itself that I can't say no to.

1. Gallery shelf. I have a gallery wall in progress in my bedroom, but there is a HUGE

empty wall in our living room that is begging for some pretty art or a GALLERY SHELF DUH.

I would probably go for something a little more eclectic as far as what I put here, but I love the idea. It's

so much less pressure to find one big piece that would probably be expensive and difficult to hang.

2. Pretty painted lanterns. I don't know how exactly this would work

inside my apartment, but it's pretty, nonetheless. These would be AWESOME

for a barbecue in our backyard, which we are lucky to have. Amirite? I plan on

using it a LOT this next summer.

3. Wooden Frame. I don't generally like to post things from Etsy (found on Pinterest) in my

DIY posts because this is obviously someone else's talent, and you can bet that I don't have the tools

or knowhow to make this. Let's just say that this is a little handmade pretty that I would love to purchase

and put on that gallery shelf from number one. Love.

4. Pretty feather thingy. I want this. In my kitchen. The end.

5. I LOVE this idea. However, I think I would create the clock using.... clocks. Preferably

vintage/thrifted ones that are completely mismatched but awesome looking. I was mostly drawn to the colors in this photo, and the framed scrap art is super cute, but not really my aesthetic. Ideas?

Harry Potter Challenge v.5

Day 5 - Your favorite male character and why.

Snape is the bomb. Why? Because he is the character that you expect to hate and end up loving because he is so the bomb. I love surprising characters, and the first time I read HBP and DH, I was definitely surprised to learn so much about Snape that made me change the way I felt about him as a character.

Luckily for me, it's a three day weekend, and I have been taking full advantage. I don't have to work my other, part-time, job, so it's been nice to do what I want, when I want, and spend a lot of extra time with the dogs, too. Hope your weekends are just as nice!

Apartment DIY: Tuesday Morning Edition

Happy Tuesday morning :) I'm currently putting off grading the last 15 exams that I waited until the very last day of break to grade. Go me! Here's my best effort at procrastination... enjoy :) Also, I realize these are not very winter-y colors. Deal with it.

1. Felt Citrus Coasters. I'm sure you could totally make something else just as cute,

but these are awesome. I need a sewing machine, like, 5 minutes ago.

2. Button Embroidery Hoops. Because... duh. They are adorable.

Someone on Pinterest (obvi) suggested making them small enough to be

Christmas ornaments. Cute idea! Also, christmas colors? Probably.

3. This blanket is the sole reason that I'm having my lovely friend Becca teach me how

to crochet. Because it's SO pretty and I want it in my apartment, now.

4. Vintage Faucet Coat Hangers. First of all, this picture quality is garbage, but it's still a really 

pretty idea. I might consider it, but it also might not go with anything else in my apartment.

In other news, school starts tomorrow. I am dreading it. It's going to be pretty damn hard to wake up in the morning and I'm sure I'll come home to a mess from some very angry/neglected puppies after 13 days of being off and home with them. Poor little things. Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday :)
